IOC, IPC and IAKS launch 2023 edition of architecture prizes in January

Soon coming up: Architects, landscape architects and operators of particularly well designed and successful sports and leisure facilities are invited to apply for the IOC IPC IAKS architecture prizes. The awards for sustainable, barrier-free and innovative sports and leisure facilities enjoy the highest reputation worldwide. This competition for exceptional achievements in the planning, construction and operation of sports, leisure and recreation facilities takes place every two years.

In 2021, a total of 86 projects in contention from all corners of the globe. Countries included Canada, Japan, Montenegro, Peru, Syria and the USA, showcasing extraordinary design and functionality. Among the winners in 2021 were interesting and eye-catching projects such as community centres, ice rinks, multifunctional stadia and arenas, and an acclaimed ski slope on top of a waste-to-energy plant.
