Children spend approximately 1,600 hours a year of leisure time after school and during summer and winter holidays. The Yoshima Kids Club, an integrated regional sports club from Fukushima Prefecture, is a sports and culture club that operates out of a closed school, making use of the network of diverse local people and organisations it has cultivated over the years. The club aims to create a culture in which children can grow up playing various challenges in a carefree manner, and people can enjoy interacting with each other in the clubhouse. A project is underway to bring cage football pitches developed in Germany to all parts of the country in cooperation with private companies. In this webinar, you will learn about the “Integrated Regional Sports Clubs” initiative and the creation of a space for children's play and sport that is open to the local community.
